Mixer down, Dr. Disrespect banned, new streaming platform Brime, and a whole lot of secrets

This year has been a roller coaster like no other for the whole world, and now even the streaming landscape is being hit by the curse of 2020.

During a time when literally anything can happen simply because this year has been one nutty thing after another since the first day of 2020, it keeps getting weirder. This time it is in the gaming/streaming world.

Mixer announced it would be closing its service and partnering with Facebook Gaming. They paid out contracts for their big names like Ninja and Shroud and are moving everyone else over to Facebook at their request.

This was a move that basically everyone could see happening we just didn't know when.

Among the big four platforms for streaming Mixer was struggling the most while possibly spending the most money on creators.

With this closure this seemingly solidified Twitch and Youtube as the only platforms that truly matter when it comes to streaming. (Facebook gaming is there, but I think it's a failing platform as well)

In the same week, Twitch was laying ban hammers on a slew of creators after several sexual assault allegations were coming out from various streamers. Twitch was on a purge of vile creators that were abusing their platform and they cleaned house on quite a few people.

Then Friday happens... Dr. Disrespect, one of Twitch's biggest names, was permabanned from the site. Dr. D who had just recently signed a big contract to stream exclusively to Twitch was seemingly wiped off of their site... AND NO ONE KNOWS WHY.

Slasher first tweeted about the permaban which is what started the fire. Then through out the day that left the internet to run wild with what possibly could have been the reason.

Some thinking it was DMCA, many thinking it has something to do with his past scandal after he allegedly cheated on his wife. Some think it may have had to do with recent sexual assault allegations and he may have been in that boat. But truly no one knows, and for those who do they aren't saying ANYTHING.

Dr. Disrespect tweeted Saturday that he had received no information on why he was banned from the site.

WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON? TWO NEW STREAMING PLATFORMS?

Now two new platforms are basically rising out of the dirt all in the same week with TROVO and another service possibly called BRIME. First is Trovo a more established platform that looks to compete with Twitch. Then we have Brime which is far crazier and ties in with Mixer closing and Dr. Disrespect being banned, but we will touch on that in a minute.

Trovo seems to be a direct Twitch competitor, owned by none other than Tencent (the Chinese gaming company *secret gaming overlord*) that looks almost the same as Twitch. Tencent has a lot of money and has their hands and toes dipped in essentially everything gaming. This could be an interesting one if it gains a lot of traction because it is basically Twitch and Tencent has the money and power to compete. Anyways, on Trovo there is a page created for Dr. Disrespect. This could be fake or fan-made but its on the site.

Now for Brime...

Brime is less known and a whole lot more unclear on what this is. There were some rumors going around on places like Reddit and 4chan that Dr. Disrespect and a few other big names were trying to launch their own streaming platform through Spotify. Based on the info I can find the rumors seem to believe that Google is launching a new service through Spotify with these bigger named streamers at the helm of it all.

This is an interesting move as they already have Youtube gaming with pretty big named creators doing fairly well with streaming. Some of the rumor post think they may move all the Youtube streamers under contract to this new platform if it really Google behind this.

(Take this with a grain of salt, it's a 4chan post could be fake)

Keemstar, the popular Drama Youtuber has been posting more about this to his Twitter as he continues to do what he does and stirs pots of massive concoctions.

Brime on Twitter announced they would be answering all questions Monday so I guess we will find out what is really going on with Brime then. Brime also follows a small number of people on Twitter among those being Ninja, Dr. Disrespect, Ewok, Dr. Lupo and Shroud (This keeps getting weirder). It is worth noting that Dr. Disrespect had said he was going to be announcing something on the 29th, which is also Monday. Did Twitch get wind of this stuff happening in secret?

As for Dr. Disrespect personally I don't think this is the reason he was banned. I don't think Dr. D would have signed his contract in March and then do all this behind Twitch's back and I don't think Ninja or Shroud would want to hop onto a new plat right after Mixer shutdown.

BUT I REALLY HOPE THAT'S AT LEAST SOMEWHAT TRUE, maybe it's not all accurate, but I hope it's in ballpark of some of these rumors.

I think there is SOMETHING happening with a lot of legal trouble (Since any person with some kind of power is not saying anything), and here is hoping that Monday will clear up a lot of the confusion.
