People can fly a Polish studio most known for work on Gears Judgment, and Bulletstorm are working under Square Enix to develop their next big title Outriders.
Outriders is a 3rd person 'cover' looter shooter Action RPG. It looks to take heavy inspiration from games like Destiny, Division 2, Anthem and Gears of War.
It will feature drop-in drop-out 1-3 player co-op and is set in a futuristic, dark and gritty sci-fi universe with lots of enemies to kill and guns and armor to collect.
The game is set to release on April 1, 2021, after a delay pushed it back a couple of times. There will also be a free demo released Feb. 25 that will let people play as many times as they want and the progression will transfer over to the full game.
Many games in this 'ARPG' looter shooter style genre have been known to take the live service approach.
The thing that sets this game apart for me is they say it will be a fully enclosed experience with around a 40 hour campaign. It will not be a live-service game similar to the Division 2 or Destiny 2 according to People Can Fly.
The game does feature and extensive endgame that they say will challenge any player.
I love the art style and 3rd person view of Outriders and the combat looks quick, explosive and exciting. It is a 'cover' shooter but a lot of the game play makes it looks really fluid and fast rather than slow and methodical like the Division.
For the past few weeks People Can Fly have been showing off guns and armor sets that can be found in the game and showcasing more about how stats and the RPG aspect of the game will work.
There seems to me like there will be a lot of content here and personally I really like that it will not be a live service game.
