The Tribeca Games Spotlight returned for its second year to put a spotlight on games that may be a bit smaller in scale, but very big in personality. This festival is a great way to give the smaller indie titles more time for people to see what they are all about.
The showcase offered a closer look at nine games, some with familair names but mostly a look into some new indie games that will be hitting the digital stores very soon.
Thirsty Suitors
Thirsty Suitors offers a unique artsy-looking action RPG with a focus on dealing with modern relationships and family issues.
The Cub
Self described as a 2d cinematic platformer, The Cub looks like a daring tale of a young boy alone on Earth after the rich elite abandoned Earth to live on Mars. If you took Jungle Book and dropped it into a postapocalyptic future, you would get The Cub.
As Dusk Falls
As Dusk Falls is an interactive story, where you make decisions that can impact how the game plays out. You will step into the shoes of several characters as you uncover the mystery in this Crime Drama.
Venba
Venba is another narrative focused title, but here you will be discovering the story as you relearn to cook by filling in the missing parts of lost family recipes.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
This is a sequel to the successful Plague Tale: Innocence. This game looks like it will be upping the anti on everything from the first stealth/puzzle action game. I loved the first one and I can't wait for this one.
Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course
Here is a bit more insight to the first major DLC coming to the popular bullethell/platformer Cuphead. This DLC is coming June 30, and will cost $7.99 USD.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals
This will be the next game in the Oxenfree series with a new mystery surrounded by images of Triangles. This is a game where you will uncover the secrets around the mystery of a spooky island while directing the story with your choices.
Immortality
Immortality is the next game by Sam Barlow the creator behind Her Story an interactive film narrative. This is part one to a three part trilogy.
American Arcadia
We got some more into a recently revealed 2.5 indie sidescoller that is set in a dystopian future.
Tribeca Games Spotlight provided a closer look at several great looking indie games. Any of these stand out to you?
